Our tour guides picked us up at the Bull Frog Inn in the morning. After a half hour drive through the jungle, we arrived at our destination. We got our tubes and rented water shoes that we could use for hiking through the rainforest and for the tubing.
On the bus...excited to start our adventure!
Our water shoes :)
Posing with our tubes and Dr. John
We walked down a short path to the river, and waded across to the rainforest. We hiked to a beautiful blue pool in the jungle where we went for a quick swim and put our tubes in the water.

Going for a quick swim :)
Some of us jumped from this ledge!
After our swim, we climbed onto our tubes and began to float with the current down the river and into the cave! Inside the cave was pitch black darkness. We wore head lamps to light the way. At one point our guides had us turn off our lights and I could see NOTHING!! It was crazy! But so cool and fun! Inside the cave was a bit chilly. We saw an underground waterfall, and a place where the Mayas came to make sacrifices.
Entering the cave...goodbye light!
Paige, me, and Chrissy in the cave!

Podge and me :)
Outside the cave, back in the rainforest!
Once we were outside of the caves, we just floated through the rainforest. It was honestly the most beautiful sight I have ever seen! The water was so brilliantly turquoise, the trees so green and bright, the heat of the sun warming us after the chilly cave. It was just a great experience all around, and I think I can safely speak for all of us when I say we would have floated there all day if we could!!
So beautiful!!
Chrissy used my camera to capture this artsy shot- my initial!
Dr. John filmed us as we floated by :)
A last look at the river
On the way home! What a great experience! :)
