Well, this week flew by! At the same time, it feels already like we've been here forever! I have completely taken over teaching in my four classes. My directing teacher teaches social studies, health and family life education (HFLE), and art. The teachers rotate between the four classes, so I have been teaching those three subjects to the classes every day. Here is the schedule for one of the classes:
Some more pictures from this week:
Melissa plays with one of her students
One of my classes: ready to learn! :)
Paige with her students
Melissa enjoying our lunch of salbutes; a local lady makes
them and sells them to the teachers for 50 cents each.
They are so amazing!!

Every day, during break, some local ladies sell snacks to the students.
One of my kids bought this very popular snack for me.
It's an orange...with salt and cayenne pepper. Lots of it.
It was one of the worst things I've ever tasted!
But the kids here LOVE it!!
Morning assembly= devotion time
Wearing a ribbon for Garifuna awareness day
My class :)
Paige got an anti-worm pill from traveling nurses (they distributed
one to all the students). Here, she is celebrating that she
will not get pin worms!
When Dr. John missed lunch the other day, Melissa and I wasted no
time in paying for and eating his lunch! So the next day, Roxanna,
the lunch lady, served us first!! We called ourselves "the hungry girls!" Lol!
There are starving dogs roaming everywhere! Paige fed
our leftovers to one....
Lisa and me on lunch break :)
We ate at Pasquale's Italian restaurant last night
Melissa and Lisa
Cherice and Podge (Cheryna and Paige) ;)
Chrissy and "Papa John"
Paige wanted a picture with Dr. John, too :)
D'Elise and me :)
Tomorrow we are going tubing in the rainforest and in some caves! Should be quite the adventure! Can't wait to share it with you!
